Qualifications:

General Qualification:

Must be between the ages of 17 and 42.

Must be airborne qualified or volunteer for airborne training.

Must be a high school graduate or have a general education development certificate (GED).

Must be eligible for a security clearance.

Must be able to meet the medical fitness standards as outlined in AR 40-501 for Airborne, Ranger and Special Forces Training.

Must be able to swim 50 meters wearing boots and battle dress uniform (BDU/ACU).

Must have a general technical (GT) score of 100 or higher.

Must be able to pass the Defense Language Aptitude Battery (DLAB) test with a score of 95 or higher; or have a Defense Language Proficiency Test (DLPT0 of a minimum of 1/1 reading and listening.

Must be able to score a minimum of 240 points on the Army Physical Fitness Test (APFT), with no less than 70 points in each event, using the standards for age group of 17 - 21.

Be under suspension of favorable personnel action.

Have been convicted by court martial during their current term of service. Have received an Article 15 for drug-related offense. Have voluntarily terminated airborne, ranger school or SF training.

Exceed weight standards in accordance with AR 600-9. Be barred from reenlistment.
